“About Books” (2010) was a popular show  in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library Foyer, Rutherford South on the University of Alberta main campus from October 4 – 31, 2010. In conjunction with the show,  visiting guest artist and Coordinator of the MFA in the Book Arts Program at the University of Alabama, Prof. Steve Miller, gave two public presentations on book arts. “A Generosity of Spirit: Book Arts 2010” traced the faces and work of some individuals and institutions that have made a significant impact in the world of handmade books in the past 40 years. In “Collaborations! Cuban and Alabama Artists Making Books by Hand“, Steve Miller recounted his experiences of travelling to Cuba 12 times in the past six years, and shared why the experience is so exciting and rewarding for everyone involved.
