Bookbinding in the Edmonton region

Our next chapter meeting will be Monday June 06, 2016.
7-9 pm at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church boardroom
8420 – 145 Street, Edmonton, ample on-street parking

We have an exhibition at the Stanley Milner branch of the Edmonton Public Library for the month of May. The front gallery center case is a fine showing of miniature book forms; the two beside it exhibit our most recent annual challenge: forms (with text or graphic content) that members hadn’t built before.

The three cases inside the library feature bindings from our group letterpress project, book-binding tools and a selection of hand-made boxes along with more books from our local CBBAG chapter. A warm thanks to Selena for her excellent display skills; and to Janice, Rena, and Dawn for their assistance. We’ve already received super comments and kudos; we invite you to drop by and enjoy!

Our Library exhibition box is now available for local lending

The Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild is a national organization established in 1983 to provide contact and support for those interested in the book arts. The CBBAG Alberta North chapter has members from the northern part of the province and our meetings are held in various locations in Edmonton.

Membership in CBBAG (pronounced “cabbage”) is open to all those who share book-related interests and support these goals:
•  to create a spirit of community among hand book workers and with the book community;
•  to promote greater public awareness of the book arts;
•  and to increase educational opportunities and foster excellence through exhibitions, workshops, and publications.

The Alberta North chapter has meetings several times a year. We also organize exhibitions and displays to promote book arts in the community.
